Many celebrations took place in 2009 to mark the longevity and popularity of one of music’s most famous genres – the 50th Anniversary of Motown Records – and Diane’s show is more in demand than ever. Diane brings to the stage a non-stop and dynamic tour-de-force of the timeless soul classics, bringing the spirit of the great soul divas to life, in a spectacular and spine-tingling presentation.
Once described as the ‘most famous unknown singer’ in the UK, Diane Shaw has, in her career probably performed in front of more people than a lot of the singers in the pop charts today, and is being heralded the freshest thing to hit the UK Soul scene in years, bringing an enthusiasm and energy rarely seen on stage today.
From the dynamic and emotive ballads of the likes of Gladys Knight and Diana Ross, venturing into Soul classics from the likes of Martha Reeves, Tammi Terrell, The Elgins and the Velvelettes, ending up with the whole room on their feet dancing to a tribute to the classics of Motown including The Supremes, The Vandellas and even her own versions of classics from the likes of the Four Tops, and the Isley Brothers it’s true that Diane’s show has something for everyone….. and guarantees to have you Dancing in the Aisles!
I have seen many live acts over the years in several countries. There has only been two occasions when I felt emotional during such a performance. The first occasion was at my second visit to see Les Miserables in London and the second occasion was at Nidd Hall Hotel last Sunday when I saw your performance for the first time. It was a sheer delight to watch a professional at the very top of her game perform. Your timing, diction and stage magnetism is simply unparalleled. Many thanks for a fabulous show. John R Bacon, Nidd Hall Harrogate.
