From Poole in Dorset, Kevin Michaels is a delightful combination of personality & talent so rarely found. 1997 saw the return of this popular comedy impressionist to our screens.
It’s his cheeky school boy sense of humour and warmth which first charms an audience before amazing them with his accurate impressions.
Kevin Michaels became the smash comedy hit of London Weekend Television’s live final of “Big Big Talent Show.” After winning his heat The Sun’s newspaper critic, Garry Bushell said: “Kev does more take offs than a 747!”
Comedy Impressionist – Kevin Michaels
Since the late 1990s, talent shows have become a notable genre of reality television such as Popstars (1999), Star Academy (2001), Idol (2001), The X Factor (2004), So You Think You Can Dance (2005), Got Talent (2006), The Voice (2010) and Rising Star (2013), Tri Akkorda (Russian Talent Show) (2014), which have been critical in catapulting some amateur artists to stardom and resulting in their commercially successful careers.
Many talent shows are performances rather than contests, but some are actual contests. In the instance of a contest, participants may be motivated to perform for a reward, trophy, or prize of some kind. (Wikipedia)
Des O’Connor described Kevin as: “A young man with a bright future.”
Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said “Kev could be the next Bobby Davro.”
