Take four of the most happening musicians Manchester has to offer, mix in some pop, soul and a good dose of funk and what do you have? The Midnight Cats – Manchester’s favourite professional funk, function and covers band.
This is an experienced working band, playing irrefutably contagious brand of funk, pop and soul across the North West. A diverse array of clients from companies laying on sparkling corporate hosting, to promoters keen to get their venues jumping.
As an acoustic band, the sets offer a change of pace from the typical gig. They take the music they love to play as an amped up four piece and give it the acoustic treatment, creating a softer feel perfect for smaller functions, intimate events and background music.
Midnight Cats – All Functions Band
Midnight Cats wedding band. From Adele to Dusty Springfield, Taio Cruz to Bruno Mars, Jackson 5 to Pulp, the Cats play a ridiculously danceable, eclectic repertoire of chart hits, funk staples, soul classics and pop favourites.
All with a signature funky twist, exclusively designed for dancing.
Since the mid-1990s the nu-funk scene, centred on the Deep Funk collectors scene, is producing new material influenced by the sounds of rare funk 45s. Labels include Desco, Soul Fire, Daptone, Timmion, Neapolitan, Bananarama, Kay-Dee, and Tramp. These labels often release on 45 rpm records. Although specialising in music for rare funk DJs, there has been some crossover into the mainstream music industry, such as Sharon Jones’ 2005 appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. (Wikipedia).
