Niels Duinker
Niels Duinker comedy juggler headlines at Magifest in Columbus, Ohio and also performs his original style show on cruise ships. Joshua Jay and Andi Gladwin from Vanishing Inc. Magic asked Niels Duinker if he was interested in returning to Magifest. Magifest is America’s oldest annual magic convention and now one of the largest. He had the honour to do his full hour-long one-man show as part of the final night gala show.
It was a great experience to be back and the standing ovation at the end of his performance was the icing on the cake. Since Niels got his first USA work visa over ten years ago, he has performed on board more than 45 cruise ships, headlined his one-man show in two tourist towns and performed nearly 2,000 shows at The Comedy Barn Theatre in Tennessee.
Niels is now mostly focusing on performing with his show at various state and county fairs. Last summer, you will have found him at the Alaska State Fair and a variety of county fairs.
While not on stage, Niels is working hard on other juggling-related projects through his prop company ND Juggling. Currently, with author Barry Thorson, Niels is working on a historical fiction book about Australian juggler Thomas “Anglo” Horton. With juggling genius Jay Gilligan they are working on a new type of juggling club named the CupHead2.0.
Recently Niels Duinker returned with his show to the high seas after almost five-year-long hiatus from cruise ships. In 2017 he joined the cast of The Comedy Barn Theatre in Pigeon Forge. After that, he spent nearly 5 years performing non-stop in various tourist towns in the USA. It was great to perform again on board Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, which brought him to Israel, Greece, Spain and the United States this fall alone! Spring brings new life, growth – and the start of a new gig in Tennessee, USA!
“Last month the new Guinness Book of World Records came out. As you know, I don’t like to brag but I made it into the Guinness Book of World Records™… TWICE! In all the international editions my world record for blindfolded juggling (which is a stunt I do in my live shows now) was featured on page 76. And in the Netherlands edition, my record for juggling the most cups ever juggled was featured as well. At the beginning of this year (2016) I managed to juggle 12 cups in Oxnard (Los Angeles) at the annual Kidabra convention for Family Entertainers, where I was performing.
“Last week we had the opening night of my new 2023 theatre residency and this season is going to be a blast. “Array” can be seen six nights a week at The Parkway in Pigeon Forge at the 535-seat Mountain of Entertainment Theatre.”
“Pigeon Forge’s newest show, “Array”, is produced by the same entertainment company that I performed for during the Christmas season last year. It features singers, dancers, speciality acts and a 4-piece live band. I am proud to be part of it!”
