Pen Hadow
Pen Hadow UK motivational speaker and presenter is one of the world’s most acclaimed Polar explorers. He is highly regarded as an inspirational and thought-provoking presenter of motivational speeches, keynote speeches and entertaining after dinner entertainment talks.
A famous solo North Pole trek took 3 attempts over 15 years to achieve which led to inspirational talks covering vision, personal motivation, goal-setting and innovation. Risk management, resilience, ultimately, success against toughest odds are also factored in. Continually refreshed with new insights, these Pen Hadow Polar talks continue to secure the highest praise from clients and their audiences for content and delivery.
Many high-profile organisations work alongside Pen. These range from major corporates like: BP, M&S, Lloyds Bank and Royal Mail. He has provided environmental, climate change and sustainability keynotes for a variety of summit meetings. They have been for heads-of-state and national business leaders in the UK and US.
The keynote speeches are based on Pen’s leadership of the globally-acclaimed pioneering research programme, Catlin Arctic Survey (2007-2012) which led to his TIME magazine ‘Hero of the Environment’ award. Having devised the surveys, Pen Hadow secured £10M funding. He delivered, with a team of x50 explorers, scientists and communications experts, this pioneering scientific research programme. It investigated the causes, rates and impacts of the rapidly melting Arctic sea ice.
The UK’s elite military units and our Olympic Team GB. HRH Prince Charles, Anders Fogh Rasmussen (NATO’s Secretary-General) and ex-US Vice-President Al Gore have co-presented with him. He is also the only Briton to have trekked to both the North & South Geographic Poles (without resupply or assistance). The world’s first professional guide service to the North and South Poles was previously founded by Pen.
Pen Hadow’s public profile is now on the rise again (as of 2017) preparing to make the ultimate journey of exploration. This will be the first solo crossing on foot of the Arctic Ocean (100 days/2,000km) via the North Pole. En route Hadow will be mapping the thickness of the sea ice and promoting an international treaty to protect the fast-changing Arctic ecosystem. This is more than double the distance of his high profile record-breaking solo trek from Canada to the North Pole and the feat remains unrepeated. The Times compared this difficulty to the first solo ascent of Everest by the hardest route without oxygen!
“Hadow’s most beguiling quality is the ability to make people believe they can do anything.” Daily Telegraph.
