Ric Machin, caricaturist London, has hosted various one man shows of caricature oil paintings and prints. He has been cartooning and drawing all his life. His earliest professional work was restoring fine porcelain in a small workshop in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. It involved matching the style and brushwork on Meissen, Satsuma and Imari porcelain antiques. He then spent 25 years in cartoon animation in London, New York and South Korea – mainly commercial work. He is also a designer of caricatures for use in BBC 3D animated promotional trailers.
Recently Ric has hosted lectures and seminars and would like to see that develop more fully. Caricaturist Ric also carried out some series and feature work overseas for Disney and Warner Brothers Animation on the Animated Batman Series. Since returning to England in 2001 he has hosted several one man exhibitions of oil paintings in London’s West End. Perhaps publishing notes and sketches from his career in the cartoon and animation world. Ric’s portraits capture some of the most recognisable celebrities of the late 20th / early 21st century, in pencil, digital and oil on canvas.

A caricature is a rendered image showing the features of its subject in a simplified or exaggerated way through sketching, pencil strokes, or other artistic drawings (compare to: cartoon). Caricatures can be either insulting or complimentary and can serve a political purpose, be drawn solely for entertainment, or for a combination of both. Caricatures of politicians are commonly used in editorial cartoons, while caricatures of movie stars are often found in entertainment magazines. In literature, a caricature is a distorted representation of a person in a way that exaggerates some characteristics and oversimplifies others. Wikipedia.
