Cartoon Food have been together for eight years. This is an engaging four-piece, three-part harmony band from Fleetwood, Lancashire. They are often exuberant, always eclectic and write songs of love, life and mortality.
During this time, they have played festivals and venues up and down the country where their music has always been eagerly anticipated and warmly received. The line-up is: Ian Wright, vocals, guitars, woodwind, melodica, percussion. Jez Jackson, vocals, cajon / percussion. Shaun Elliott, bass guitar / vocals and Mike Bailey, mandolin / acoustic guitar.

The band supported Ferocious Dog on part of their 2015 national tour and also supported Jasmine Morley as part of her National Tour in 2014. The previous year they supported Rita Hosking and Sean Feder from the USA. In June 2017 they played The Acoustic Festival of Britain alongside acts such as Fairport Convention, Howard Jones and Martin Turners’ Wishbone Ash.
Andy Hughes from Acoustic magazine had this to say about the band’s performance (August 2017) : “Another fabulous set was delivered by Cartoon Food, whose intelligent songs and cleverly understated composition made them a crowd favourite. Bands like this are what make festivals such a pleasure. They know how to connect with their audience and the wit and warmth of their songs and chat made them another name for people to seek out for further listening”.
In February of last year the band played alongside the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for a specially commissioned project for the BBC. They have also enjoyed success down in London through Substance and Hot Vox promotions. They supported The Feeling at last year’s Lechlade Festival and are currently recording their second album at Blueprint Studios with an anticipated release date later in the year.
Their first album, ‘Tales From The Ghost Wood’ is available on cd format and all streaming / download platforms.
